General Questions

We made a list of questions we get asked frequently. Please reach out if we haven’t answered yours.

We advise you to have maths, science and mathematics. English is compulsory.

You don’t have to achieve a specific mark to be able to join a flight school. Anyone with a good grasp of English and Mathematics can become a pilot.

It is never too old to start flying. As long as you can pass an Aviation Medical Examination, you can start flying.

Knowing how to swim is not a requirement for becoming a pilot. Some Charter Companies and Airlines might require crew to complete a swim test though.

Part time PPL takes about 12 months. Full time PPL between 4-6 months.

CPL training can take up to 24 months to complete.

You have to be 15 years old to get a Student Pilot License. You can go solo at 16 years old and you qualify to have a PPL at 17.

You will train in both simulators and real airplanes. Most of your training for PPL will be done in real aircraft. Instrument and night flying will partly be done in Flight Simulators.

It’s a very basic medical examination, which will also incorporate fitness, lung function and eye test (amongst others).

You cannot work with a PPL. In order to get a job as a pilot you are required to have at least a Commercial Pilot License.

First of all you will require a Study Permit. Thereafter, the requirements stay the same as for local students.
